Quick question, are the parking brake strut levers side specific? Both of mine are the same; however, looking at MegaParts, they look like the bent ears are side specific so that they end up pointing down on each side. Does it matter? I also noticed mine seem to have a wear spot on each of them - what typically causes that so I can make sure I address it.

Thanks
Ross

Yes the bend should be toward the ground. I bought a new set for 11" from Brewer's and they were stamped Left and Right.

Thanks - ordered a set today. It seems I have 3 for the driver's side and 0 for the passenger's side.

Bringing this back up. I ordered a set from MegaParts and they arrived last night. They are both the same as the 3 I have. Jamie is saying that they're the same - aka not sided. Who's right?

The pictures of the parts look sided. I'll dig through the FSM in a bit to see what I can find.

Hoping one of our more experienced members can enlighten me.

Above I mentioned an 11" set from Brewer's that is definitely different side to side. With your recent posts I checked Brewer's site, and all the struts but one have a note "Right side lever stamped with “R”". The ones that don't are "1965-79 10″ BRAKES PARKING BRAKE STRUT LEVERS" with this photo showing they do appear to be the same.

The bend points up on the one on top and down on the other one.

The only 10" brakes I have are on a car that I can't easily access to look at what it's got.

The ones off my 67 Belv II with 10" drums are the same left/right with NO bend on the end. I have only owned the car since 1995 so can't account for its first 30 yrs but it is very original with 58k miles and shows no signs of having been swapped, modded, etc. 67 FSM photos are inconclusive other than which end the spring goes on and it makes no mention of orientation.

Thanks - guess they're the same on both sides then.
