the website says you have to be a member of the Department of Defense to get in..

Is this kinda strange?
 
Any UFO sightings in the area lately?

That's a pretty hot area for those.
 
The page linked to above says closed from 10/19-10/21.

Sounds like a planned/organized renovation or some such.
 
Unless sponsored through the Trusted Traveler program, no civilians will be granted access onto the base until further notice, and thus will not be able to access the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Increased base security for some reason? Maybe they're prepping for the "southern surge" in case it moves westward from TX?
