I enjoy reading about rare combinations, don't really remember anyone filling us in on the FBBO forum regarding a big block 361. Where are they and who has 'em out there? Thank you.

Had one in this Coronet. No engine photos though. Intake, carb and dualpoint. It ran pretty good. Comparable to my worn out 383 in my RoadRunner. LOL

My brother (in law)'s car was a 66 Satellite factory "Commando V8" 361.

Pics are on here somewhere.

361 was discontinued in US B body cars after 1966.

Replaced with 383 2 barrel.

The D600 trucks with 361 2bbls (angle plug heads) would out pull The F700 389 4vs we had at MODoT.
361s were under rated. The 340 came along and made the 361 obsolete in cars. Then the 360 drove the point home.
Some friends had a few B and C bodies with 361s. The 4spd versions were great.

My un-restored, and pretty much original, 64 Fury is a 361-pushbutton car. Has 96K miles now. A few years ago, I pulled the engine and trans to clean it up, stop a few leaks, and detail a bit. My desire was to upgrade a bit, but keep it looking so factory correct that only hard core Mopar guys would see the changes. I switched to a 4 bbl intake and AFB carb from a 65 Chrysler 383. I had a set of the big block HP exhaust manifolds, so used them and ordered a 2-1/2" exhaust kit from TTI. It's no show car, and with the 2:76 gears, would not run with a 383 "muscle car", but it does OK to drive and enjoy...

And YES, replacing that yellow battery ground cable is on my list of stuff to do.....LOL

Big Bad Dad, You car is a Highway Star !
I went from 4.10 to 3.23 and now I'm thinking of going to 2.76 in my 65.

Dibbons, I'm working on building a 361 right now.

The 361 hp, 4bll, dual exhaust was standard equipment in a 1962 Polara 500.

The 361 as it came in my '62 Polara 500.

Replaced it with a '67 440 and placed the 361 under the work bench for future restoration if the need arises.
