¡Ay, caramba! I'm doing the math in head right now and seeing some were in the neighbor hood of 7.5k just in the motor? another 5k in the tranny? Can I come over to your house to play? :)

I quit adding after $10K

¡Ay, caramba! I'm doing the math in head right now and seeing some were in the neighbor hood of 7.5k just in the motor? another 5k in the tranny? Can I come over to your house to play? :)

It was a labor of love over 6 years I quit counting over $10K, there's lots of labor time you can't really put a price on had many parts from other combos & lots of brand new stuff too, I think I had $15K or so & 1000's of hours tinkering & fabricating in the car & sold it to a friend for $28K ready to run mid 8's, he wasn't willing to start from scratch he wanted to go out & tear em up right away, I did keep the trick 6bbl setup & A-12 hood {now on my current 68 HT}, he only wanted the single 1050 Dominator & stock RR hood, it barely fit with out a air cleaner but that's his problem now...

:rofl:mine are top secret!!

Drove it two hours to the track with a mild 572 pump gas hemi, built 727, dana 60, 373 gears, 4250# race weight with lots of ballast in the trunk and a 300 shot. Went 9.98@140 in the heat. I've taken out nearly 250# since and just got the new heads back from being CNC ported. Looking for low nines next year and with the new overdrive, should make the road trips much nicer.

Good luck with you Hemi RR & low 9's

Good luck on your low 9's pursuit, a little {or allot} of weight shedding couldn't hurt, that for damn sure....

Thanks, we'll get there. The additional port volume on the new heads alone will make a big difference. The old combo was a low buck deal using junk MP pistons (heavy, single pin oilers, big rings, etc. ), chunky Manley H-beams, etc. This new combo will using top shelf items. Lightweight diamond pistons with .043/.043/3mm rings, 7.100 Oliver rods, and the K-1 crank if it can be saved and a Callies if it can't. We're looking for another 100hp on motor and a bigger gain from the 300 shot with the additional volume.

Sounds like it will be a fun ride for sure... Looks like a top notch build... An additional total 400hp will always help, if you can get it to the ground especially... Any photos of this beast {car & combo}...

Nice ride & nice tire roaster...

72 dart

i have been working on a 72 dart chassie car for the last seveal years.
it is a 500ci mopar simease block, JE pistons, mopar aluminum heads major port work with studs, custom comp cam 700+ lift, pro stock roller lifters, bird catcher on alky, JW ultra glide, 5000 stall, strange 9" w/pro 4.10 gears
chris alston 2x3 ladder/arm chassie, aerospace brakes front and rear, 33x15.5x15. CO2 shifter, msd 7al, msd dist/coil. had problem with dyno
made 600hp at 4000rpm and 1/2 throttle, converter kept slipping if i got into it.(low pressure prob, JW replaced pump), did fine at track for launch testing. had low oil pressure at track so didnt run it hard. found that i picked up trash in pump so need to replace and found Brooks 65 rods cracked at threads. waiting on new BME rods 2 more weeks!
should run low 8's
