Early build date 8-70 1971 RR. 1 1/8” or 1 1/4” shaft for the pitman arm? Sure do not want to pull the arm to measure. Thanks!!

I'm going thru power steering gear box jungle right now also. If you have manual steering the P arm is 1 1/8. If you have power steering and you are absolutely sure the box is the original one, then it should also be 1 1/8. If it has been replaced then you may or may not have a rebuilt '73 and after box which will require a 1 1/4 P arm. The part number on the power steering box will tell the tale. I can help you moog part #s for replacement P arms.

Sorry I have a power steering box. I will see if I can find a number.

Yup, lots of boxes get swapped, 73 was the change, if original it's the small one... But pitman arm ball sockets get worn-out & the 73 & up arm is or at least was much much cheaper than the early design & it's heavier duty... Win-Win.... When ever I swap a steering box I always go with the bigger shaft... Women prefer it....
