I have a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T whose steering gear appears to be leaking badly.
I am not sure where to find a correct replacement and necessary parts to make the exchange 0n the car.
Any suggestions would be apperciated-thanks in advance

Stay away from parts store "rebuilds". Firm Feel, Steer and Gear or Red-Head steering gears are your best bet for an oe unit correctly done. Not just cleaned off, replace one seal, paint it and sell it to the next sucker. BAC is a source if you want to upgrade to a Borgeson unit. If you go that route, buy from him [Peter] as he'll get you ALL of the needed pieces for the conversion. Regardless of who you use, you'll need to measure the diameter of your Pittman shaft. 1.125" or 1.25". Don't assume. Shipping to and from is expensive and getting the wrong size will be your mistake not theirs. Your car "should" have the smaller unit but since its old, the chances of it being changed in the last 53 years can't be ignored. Both Firm Feel and BAC are Mopar outfits and have many more items available for your cars suspension and brakes.
