    Hey all!
I saw a video on you tube where a guy had restored a 1970 Super Bee with a Power Bulge Hood and it has 440 Six Pack Emblems upload_2018-6-14_9-9-15.png on the Power Bulge instead of the Super Bee Emblems upload_2018-6-14_9-7-13.png . Does anyone know if this was an option. As far as I know this is incorrect. Can anyone confirm this?

    Hi
    It is correct
    1. Base option like mine has the "superbee" call out on the Hood
    2. "V-code" option has the 440 six-pack call out on the Hood
    3. Hemi option has the call out on the Fender "HEMI"

But:I snuck a little 1970 Hemi into my engine bay
Didn't want to hurt the original 383.
    "tee-hee-hee"

Mine is a real base 383 Super Bee but was missing the fender tag. VIN is there. Not planning on selling it. It's a Restomod. Just rebuilt a 440 six pack for it. I wanted an B & E body. Just recently finished my Challenger. Doing the car the way I want but want the correct call outs. I do like the 440 SixPack Hood Emblems. They look nice. I have not decided which ones I want yet. I have not seen many 1970s with the 440 Six Pack on the power bulge hood. Do you have pictures of your car? I would like to see your car. Is yours a 70?

I don’t recall there ever being any six pack emblems on 70 super bees.

      Again
Mine is an original 383 Auto/Bench seat Post Car AC made here in California
      1. 383 Cars had Superbee on the Power bulge hood.
      2. 426 Hemi cars had Superbee on the Power Bulge hood with HEMI on the front Fender behind the Wheel Well near door.
      3. The "V-Code" 1970 cars had a 440-Sixpack on the Power Bulge Hood.
      4. Hemi Cars with a N96 had simple "HEMI" on scoops
      5. I think N96 "V-codes" had a "440?"
      Now, I'm confused

383 cars without N96, also had "383 Magnum" badges on the fenders.

Looked like the earlier "383 Four Barrel" badges.

        Per the Reference Book:

        CHARGER, ROADRUNNER & SUPERBEE
"Color History of all the Great Dodge and Plymouth B-Body Muscle Cars
"Paul A. Heard and Mike Mueller"

Yes, that is ME (Superbee_ski) in the Cockpit of one of our Flight Test Birds, F-22 4009

It states on page 80 and 81:
"The Coronet R/T had no emblems placed on the sides of the Scoops while the Super Bee had its model name placed there. (Notice the Super Bee is 2 words where as the Roadrunner is one word)
When the Ramcharger (N96) was selected, the engine Call-Out was placed on the outboard sides of each scoop. The 440 Call-Outs on the Coronet R/T read 440 but the Super Bee was never outfitted with the 440 magnum, instead the call outs were used when the car was ordered with the the 440 Six Pack Power plant.

As our esteemed Colleague YY1 stated:

These are from my 383 Magnum 1970 Super Bee hiding a 70 Hemi...
Original paint, car, original decals & emblems
Note: One Crook auto body guy did a lil paint touchup...I was so pissed...

That 440 SIX PACK emblem was for a Challenger. It is not correct for a Super Bee. The emblem is too tall to fit on the flat spot on the sides of the pitchfork bulge on the hood.

Post #5 just shows a non v code car with a six pack emblem that is to big for the hood scoop it’s on.
The book you’re quoting says nothing about a six pack emblem.
All six pack cars with the bulge hood that I’ve ever seen just say super bee on the hood.
The correct emblem for a “legit” n96 v code 70 super bee is in my avatar.

(The black one sold for $80,000 not $117,000)

Thanks for the correction on the Black one

              I still politely disagree
You N96 car should just have the 440 Call Out as I stated earlier.

-The Green car I believe was a Barrett-Jackson
              Im not sure.

              Hmmm,
You learn something new every day
After an hour of research, I have to say our Esteemed Colleague dla4567 is most likely correct and I STAND corrected.

It appears my statement of the 440 Six Pack Call Out on the 1970 Power Bulge hood is incorrect.
              I have been mistaken

Thank you dla4567 for helping me learn something today!

There are two different sizes of emblems with engine size in chrome and either "four barrel", "Magnum", or "Six Pack" in red on 70 and up hoods.

B body size- large, and E body size- small. Without something for reference the look the same in unmounted pics.

I always thought the small style was correct for the non N96 70 Bee until I found out about the "Super Bee" script emblem.

              Yeah,
              I'm confused at this one
I ALWAYS thought the B-body Super Bee 6-pack in 70 had the call out on the Power Bulge hood

dla4567 is cool, he says its a "NO"
              Im going with that now.

              Thanks guys!

Have you been talking to my ex-wife? Or maybe dla4567 is my ex-mother-in-law. I would say something and my ex would think I was full of shit. Her mom would tell her the exact same thing... and she would would say to me, "oh, you were right".

I’m not saying they never put six pack on the hood, I’m saying I’ve never seen it. I’ve seen several “v code” six pack cars with the bulge hood and all said super bee. The only ones I’ve seen that said six pack were obviously not the correct emblem and were on 383 cars. I think six pack on the hood scoop would look cool if it fit.
I’ve learned never to say anything definite about old Mopars.
