I pulled removed the original radiator from my original radiator support,
I my limited experience there usually are little square nuts on either side.
This car only had them on the driver’s side.
The passenger side, top and bottom had holes with assorted odd fasteners.
The bottom his hard to see but the top is obvious.
That's a hole poked through on the passenger's side on the bottom.

I can only guess that as this car was being built in St. Louis they drilled some holes and put what ever they had on hand to get it out the door.
Any one else run into this or is it normal?
If someone was doing a kon-Coors restoration, would they put this stuff back in or would they “over restore” the car to a state it seems to have never been in?
Oh, I’ve also got the top left of someone else’s build sheet.
It looks to be a special order car. It was under my front black bench seat.
Maybe that goes under "Lost and Found"?

Looks like the passenger side of the opening has been hacked out. Just guessing...car probably came with a 22" radiator originally and someone opened it up to fit a 26"

Nope.
It's a 22 inch opening in a 22 inch radiator support and a 22 inch orginal radiator.
Check the pictures.

The "holes" are were they are supposed to be. Or should I say where I think the square nuts should be.
The nuts just aren't there.
Never say never on a MOPAR is all I can say.

I believe you...my car had a few oddities about it. Some had to be changed in the interest of safety. My car was also assembled in St Louis, but I suspect a few drunk Mexicans worked on it going by what we found :black_eye:

What? You found empty tequila bottles in it? LOL

nah...just shoddy workmanship. I just spoke to my buddy about it, and he reckons Chuv & Fird had the same issues :black_eye:

Well, as I've been taking it apart look what I found.
Yes 22 inch with no welded nuts on the right side for the radiator.
Guess this was so there was no confusion about what radiator to put in the car.
I'll also post another picture to see if anyone picks up on another oddity.
You won't believe what they did to the steering column to get the car out the door.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The weld line.
The front of the K had been tacked on the rail both sides.
I was jumping on it trying to figure it why it wouldn't drop.
Had to remove the bumper brackets to see what was going on.
Someone at St. Louis got happy with the welder.

When removed the transmission output yoke last year something looked strange.
Note the Detroit joints with I believe would be OE.
Maybe the spines were broached during manufacture and the plug must have not passed a leak check?
Brazing.
Or it was "repaired" later?
I wrote it off at probably just that.

But in pulling the front clip, I found this brazing in a totally unrelated place.
Under and hidden from view.
I have the missing piece. It broke off with the clip nut.
It would be great if these numbers meant something?
This piece doesn't seem to be reproduced.
It should be here?

Guess I repair it...with steel this time.

Original headlights I believe.

The capture nuts can work themselves loose, bad weld or just years of use. I was missing one on a 26" radiator support.

Is this an unmolested survivor? If not, I suspect a PO tacked the K. I know, never say never with mopars, but hard to imagine any reason the factory would have done that.

Odometer show 29k.
From what I've seen this car has never been apart.
And I've taken a few apart.
This was found under a tarp.
I guarantee the K had never been out or the front wrecked.
Just enough paint to get it out the door so much rust.

My picture is not very clear but there was a clip nut at the broken piece. In hurry for work today
Here's some of the two pieces and the clip nut stii on the upper piece.
Its a low to no option car. If it had been something else I wonder.

Pretty sure your car has been repaired a long time ago. And not so nicely at that.

What will I find next then?
A brazed tail light?
You are right these are "repairs".
But exactly when is a conundrum wrapped in a mystery surrounded by an enigma.
Evidence leads me to 1969.
Who can really say?
Any ideas about the numbers?

I cannot recall any car, not 1.....old or new, that hasn't had someone else's hands on it prior to mine......and I been doing this **** almost 40 years

Well, I certainly would hope so.
Any ideas about the numbers?
