Want to convert factory radio to FM.

67 GTX with AC. Looks like a bear to remove with the black vent there behind it.

Any recommendations on best way to remove.

Thanks.

I think the vent you are talking about has three screws that attach at the bottom and the top just fits into a groove in the main AC/Heater core. The center dash duct remains attached to this. The duct is clipped to the center dash chrome outlet and just pulls free (gently). The side ducts just slide of. The radio itself is only attached by the knob bezels and a single support bracket on the left top of the radio. There is one lead to unplug for the radio plus the antennae and speaker wires. All of the small AC dusts are jammed in pretty tight, but come out really easy. One end is a push on and the other end has a plastic snap clip that looks looks like a loop type oil filter removal tool.
