Why do some 70 rally wheels have silver center caps and some have dark gray center caps ? Is the beauty ring on the wheel supposed to polisher or brushed finish ?

I bet there is a better site somewhere, but do not know where it is. The light ones are 70, dark 71, and in 72, they changed shape. The repop places that sell them have them listed too.

'70 rallye center caps are light argent with polished beauty rings, '71 caps are dark argent with brushed rings.
