Who sells a quality rear brake cylinder for a 8 3/4 rear....!5/16 bore I believe.
Nappa has them for ten dollars and change, says made in USA. Im a skeptic at that amount of money. Ive seen them for much more but no country of origin listed....Any ideas and thanks

I’ve used several different brands off Rock Auto in the past. Never any issue. If you have originals I would look down the bore and see if you can hone them, put a kit in them and your set. Rear WCs are not high dollar items. If Napa has US made ones I would be fine with that.

I would trust the Napa cylinders and like @69L48Z27 said, you will probably be good with Rock Auto.

The worst that can happen is that they leak from the cylinder into the boot. Napa will replace a defective cylinder free of charge. If you're unsure, you can pull the drums after a few hundred miles and check the boots for seepage. I don't think that you will have trouble from The Napa products.

NAPA Gold= WIX, so there's that...
If other NAPA labeled products were of that comparable caliber, I would only shop at NAPA.
            Good luck SFSI

When it comes to main stream parts stores (O'Reilly, AutoZone, etc.) Napa is leaps and bounds above them. Plus they carry heavy truck parts, which is a plus for me.

I recently bought a steering rack for my pickup from them. It was pleasure dealing with a counterman who knew exactly what he was talking about for a change.

I'll agree woth NAPA being better at the stock for older vehicles... But newer cars the quality seems identicle to whats offered by the BBStores. One thing I like about my local NAPA is they even carry some agricultural/farm heavy duty tractor parts & always been able to offer something for them if they didnt stock it if it was a wear item...
Back to the OP topic, wheel cylinders are pretty simple in design & I've never seen 1 break...just leak. I would think any would suffice on our cars, even if it was a product of slanted eyes or sombreroes...

You could get a rebuild kit for them, but I think they are just as much as a new wc.

I wonder if they are rebuilt cylinders? I've gone through a few newer ones and all were chinese in origin. I happen to have a few USA ones that I rebuilt.

They are new. They're just a wheel cylinder. I used the Napa ones on all fours and they are holding up fine for the last two years.

Ebay will have NOS parts on occasion around $18-20 a kit with real Chrysler part number. Just need know bore size and they ho fairly fast.
i bought set from Autozone and the rears sets matched but fronts looked like from different parts of the world and bleeders were tucked in so bad had bend a wrench to fit.
Try ebay and always reach out to Tony’s Mopar Parts. He didnt have kits when I needed but has lots NOS or used parts with warranty

I just bought wheel cylinder rebuild kit from rockauto for my 10 inch drums at whole sale clear out price for 1.05$ each, I ordered a total of 4 just to have 2 extra kits. Not going to break the bank at those prices!
