What exactly holds the rear package tray in place? I just received a new one as the car was missing it when I received it. The rear seats are currently being redone. Does the rear seat just hold it in place when installed? Also, what are the stitched on flaps for? I suspect they might play a role in holding it. Thanks!

They are reproduced, but would not take much to fab a set up with minimum effort. But as Wayne suggested, just post in the WTB section as they are all the same for the various years and models.

My 68 charger had two metal pads attached to the underneath of the tray where the male end fit into two holes in the frame, and two nuts from the bottom side held it down. no clips, that was the original design. I replaced mine in 1979. But the repop ones deleted that feature, I bought mine while still available from Chrysler at the time.

That's interesting, maybe some chargers were different. I had to look, you can see the holes and the faded outline of the missing clips in the OP's picture!

could be the charger VS Coronet. My 69 GTS also had the same attachment, but my superbee did not. It was like the OP>

As I noted, the OP's picture of his Charger is showing the screw holes and "shadow" of the missing clips...identical to what I posted from my Bee. Have never seen a Plymouth or Dodge done any other way.

for any reproduction companies on this site please pay attention to a pet peeve many here have regarding speaker trays. the new trays have no attachment mounted to them, and they should in order to be correct. T have attached pictures of examples from 1966 thru 1971 from a 67 Belvedere, Coronet, 68 dart, and 71 demon, and C Body Polara.

speaker tray attachment.jpg These are unrestored Originals, and They all have a provision on the body and the tray.
This in no way was meant to disagree with the OP, as the original OP was also correct, as that attachment is the same on my 69 Coronet, but not the charger. yellow coronet.jpg 20200524_124632 (3)GTX.jpg

Interesting, I still have the factory tray that I took out of the Bee. No such clips.
