Getting ready to cut out and replace the corners. So far i just have it outlined with a sharpie. I was going to cut the corners out but stay inside the marks (lines) and then gradually shave off what i need so i can butt weld the new pieces in.What about the inner braces?Do i overlap them in place. I know some of you guys have repaired these and was hoping to get some intell as to specific way to do this. Any advise or ideas are greatly welcomed.

Go to You tube and look up a guy called swrnc his name is pete he has the best video on this. Make sure you use the least amount of heat possible. You will need to test fit the glass after. Instead of using a sharpie use a scrible and cut the piece out with a jig saw instead of a cut off wheel. A more accurate job will result. when you cut the pieces out transfer to a cardboard stencil then transfer tot he replacement. You should hammerbevel the edges into av. Dont try to but weld here, after you have fully welded, use lead only to fill the weld. Do not use bondo what ever people tell you.

These are the pieces that i have that i ordered for the corners. The bigger ones you can see where i outlined how they would be in position to the area needing repair. Can i just use the smaller ones and just weld in new metal to fix the holes that are not covered by the new pieces? Are these 2 different pieces to repair the same area? The larger pieces would need to be " worked" to fit the contour of body, but i think i would be able to do that. Snake, i have not checked out the youtube video yet.

I'd only cut out what absolutely needs to be on the car, then make the replacement part fit the hole. The small parts sandwich between the outer and the inner window frame, and they probably need a bit of tweaking to fit (at least mine did, angle wasnt right and were larger than the originals).

Rodger, you'll find the inner piece from AMD will follow the window frame pretty well. Nice part is you'll be able to tac the inner corner in place, fit the outer patch, and if need be tweek the inner. A full quarter is a bit more tedious, being its much much more large. I would use a plumb bob/tape measure off the inner piece, and pic's as well.
