On my big block 440 in my 69 road runner I have a crack on the very bottom of my Milodon 7 quart Deep Sump Low Profile oil pan. I repaired it a couple years ago with JB Weld but the leak has returned. I would like to remove the pan and have it welded up as a more permanent repair but I'm unsure it will clear the pickup tube without an a lot of hassle. I would like to hear from those of you who have removed the deep sump pan on their big block and advise me on what is involved. Thanks!

You're in luck & it's totally possible. I have removed a Moroso 7qt. pan years ago to replace one rod bearing with the engine in the car. The two tips are.... #1 you will have to drop the center link off of the idler arm & pitman arm. You don't need to detach it from the tie rods (so you're alignment will still be OK). #2 You will have to twist & turn the windage tray to get it out past the pickup tube, but it will come out.
