Repairing and detailing 66 clock

Took my clock all apart to see why it didnt work. Found points not adjusted properly. Adjusted points, cleaned, and lubes mechanicals. I decided to polish the face and lense. Put back together ran it for 6 hours and time was right on. This project is now done.

I did the same thing on my 66 Satellite. I use a battery disconnect on the car so not sure how well it’s holding time but it ticks right along when ever it’s powered up. Nice work.

Yep.. these clocks are really quite repairable once you dig into them.

I fixed the clock on my '64 Polara years ago by cleaning up the points on the rewind and lightly oiling it. After a while, it quit again. Yesterday, I sent it off to Instrument Specialties in RI. for a quartz conversion.
