Restoration battery

My resto battery purchased from Antique Battery in Ohio finally crapped out. Their resto batteries is actually hollow with two smaller batteries inside. I've carefully cut it open to see what was in it. These little orange batteries can still be purchased but for the cost of 2 it's just as cheap to buy a new repop battery, plus it never seemed to have sufficient power despite the 850cca claim. My question and yes I looked at battery sizes but can't find one small enough, has anyone put a battery in the old group 27 case ?

You could buy a standard battery and use a battery topper. Just a thought.

There was another post on the resto batteries. I just gut my old batteries once the crap out and hide a lightweight racing battery inside of the outer case . Actually cranks over quicker and goes from like 46 lbs to 12 lbs.
