Hey guys as most know I change cars like there underwear, some I let go of because I'm board some because they pissed me off others because I get in a bind. So awhile back I bought this extremely rare 1 of 10 ever produced 3 on the tree 73 rallye charger ,and soon after I had a young kid ask to buy it from me ,I decided I had 4 project s at the time I could let this one go as I didn't have alot invested in it and rare doesn't mean valuable. So I let the kid make payments and when it was payed in full he took it . No title no fender tag no build sheet! So basically it has its vin witch I ran and it's clean but nothing else. I was recently offered the car back (kid wants a gun I built) so I like my gun and have alot invested in it $2800-3100 ish he says he will pay the difference on what I feel the charger is worth .
So do I want this heep back? He has since pulled this car apart and has found alot of issues but over the years I've given him many decent parts not perfect but fixable . The car ran and drove great stop(not so much) but I have enough to throw the car together road worthy with limited rust issues. ,now I've always wanted to build a mad max/death race style car , and I feel this car would be cool to do this with . So what do you guys think help the kid part it out ? Or get it back and throw a cool driver together !
I will add I only have my 64 300 K conv as a driver right now but it's blah ,I want to scare little old ladys and make people scratch there heads saying wtf?!?! And that's the gun he wants of mine ! Top shelf everything on it !

So a quick run down .
He has two decent fenders,a decent trunk lid ,two new 1/4's,two decent door shells, floors are shot I can throw a speed limit sign and a stop sign in it if I am mad max ing it ! He has a rust free K member. Frame is good on it roof and Dutchman is good ,hood is actually rust free but is starting to bend (I can doctor it up) ,he has all the glass minus windshield witch I have in attc. ,all manual parts are there motor is out but covered ran great ,rear is an 8 3/4 .rallye gauges are still there he has the full interior too.
I also have a bunch of brand new brake parts coming off my 72 as its getting wilwoods all around.

I can make a car out of this and have fun with it ,not worrying about everything being new or new shiny paint....

Maybe even have fun with making a wider back end with the new 1/4s .
It might be fun

And before you all say I can't I have 2 weeks and I'm released to start doing light stuff why in therapy so cars are a go as long as I don't push it !

I have a soft spot for these years as it was the year of my first car. I kinda dig them, mad max it out!

How old is this "kid" that wants your gun? That looks a bit more that light duty work ahead of you !

There's a reason why three on the tree is rare and it certainly doesn't make what's left of that car any more desirable or add value. If you have a chance to get your money back on that rotted torn apart heap, then do so IMMEDIATELY!

That's definitely one for the "what were they thinking" book.

Column shift manual trans and "Rallye" are all but mutually exclusive from an execution standpoint.

Needs to be documented on the 73/74 registry for sure.

Looks like original paint and stripe.

Me, I'd take the car.. You can easily (for now) just buy/build ya another rifle but....mopars, especially any chargers are getting hard to find...

Couldn't agree more....

I love it when people respond I would get it, I would restore it, it is worth it, its rare.... blah blah bah

I'd like to see today's kids have to take a driving test with a 3 on the tree

With the way things are going nowadays, there's no way in hell I would put that gun in anyone else's hands. Whatever happens with the gun would come back to smack you in the face. The idea with the car is cool, but it's a rust bucket junker. You already got rid of it. Keep it that way. Find a better car to start with.

Keep the gun. For several reasons:
1. - that car is not worth more
2. - selling a firearm to anybody is a YUGE liability!
3. - we do not know if Trump will cave to the gun lobby, treat guns as if they are never to be made again
4. - the gun is more attractive, cooler, takes up less space and doesn't devalue whatever property it sits on.

Do what you want but i would keep the gun. If you want to help the kid work on the car you might both be further ahead.

Wow all over the board on this one! Kid is 28 ish paper work would be done on the gun . But you guys make valid points it's rusty as hell ,to restore this car would be insane!
But that wasn't my intentions.
I'm still in the air
By the way this isn't my only gun....
