What size wheels will fit on a charger? I’m mainly interested in centerlines and draglites, but might go with bassets or Aeros short term.

I’d like to go as wide as possible out back.

Thanks in advance. I just need to know what vintage rims to keep an eye out for.

i ran 10 with 4 1/2 back spacing.
What year charger =early ones are
harder to fit a wide tire and wheel?

I have several sets of Centerlines and Draglites in the shop

Has 18 x 9" front wheels with 4 3/4" backspacing. 275-40-18" tires.
18 x 10" rear wheels, 4 3/4" backspacing with 295-35-18" tires.
From 2003 to July of this year, I ran a 295-45-18" rear tire and I would get tire rub on the outer wheel tub at the rear.
68-70 B bodies have a weird bulge in the outer wheel house that intrudes into the wheel well.
I modified the bulges in this car as well as with my "Jigsaw" Charger.
Increasing rear tire clearance in a '70 Charger.

I’m definitely aware of the bulge in the outer wheel house. I’m looking for rims for my 70 RT, and I’m trying to avoid doing too many permanent changes. Can you run a 15x10 on the rear without much rubbing?

My tires were 28" tall and with MP 440/Hemi leafs and a 1 inch lowering block, I'd get rubbing when I hit some bumps. No lowering block and I'd rarely touch.
Now with the wheel well mods and shorter tires, it all clears.

15x10's will work on the back with the proper backspacing. Every car is different, so you will have to measure carefully. They will be somewhere between 5" and 5.5".
