Wow!
A simple “refresh” and “taking care of some odds and ends” has led to 5 week project but I’m almost done. It all started when my starter gave out and had to tow it to the shop. I hate like hell having my car on the back of a rollback. Anyway, I’ve replaced the rear main seal. I found a plastic windage tray for the oil pan that has rubber molded into both sides so easy and nice. Serviced the trans, diff, tail shaft seal. New plugs wires cap rotor.
Replaced the valley pan and painted it this time. Rebuilt carb and changed some jets ( Thanks everyone who chimed in on that one!) noticed the cheap valve covers that PO but on were rubbing the rocker shafts on the ends after a valve adjustment. The bought that was the noise but No!!
Purchased some new valve covers and noise still there. So, I finally discovered the rocker shafts have no shims in them. The 100 dollar question, are these shafts the same diameter from manufacturer to manufacturer?Shim to .015? I know what I need to do, just not sure which shim pack to buy. Maybe some recognizes this set up? Thanks.

All the Mopar single shaft systems have shafts that are the same diameter. I'm assumuing you are talking about installing a shim between the shaft and the head. The only reason shims would be necesary is if you had to much lifter preload. But since you already have adjustable rockers that issue could be taken care of with an adjustment.

I think he means shims between the rocker arms on the shafts. For rocker arm side-to-side. Yes any brand will work, some are .015" some are .020" etc.

The end rails look like they are for a B engine.

End rails for a RB engine are longer and will help to prevent oil leaks.

Not wrong! Good eye
