Roller cam end play

Guys, I am putting my engine together again, with a solid roller, Rollmaster timing chain. Last time I had about .009/.010 end play. I have .005 tonight, is that too tight? Roller bearing cam button. Guess the difference this time is that I didn't use silicone for a sealer. Not a big deal to pull the pump housing back off and use silicone if I need to. I have reinforcement between the cover and pump housing.

I was surprised to learn how critical this spec was when I did my roller camshaft conversion. I ended up with under .005 but if I pressed a bit, the number grew to .008 despite having a reinforced timing cover. I was told that I had to be between .005 and .010 so in a way, we both are in the range.

Yeah, relaxed it's .005. With pressure each way it's .007. That little bit is the timing chain. So looks like I should be in the window.
