I’ve got my car in epoxy primer and I need to put sealer back on the roof drip rail area where the roof skin is spot welded to the car. The sealer there was rock hard and I had to chisel it out originally, but the car had been badly repainted at some point in its life and I suspect the shop that did the paint added some sort of sealer there.

I’m assuming that seam that runs on the bottom of the drip rail channel along the top of the windshield and above the doors was sealed from the factory.
Would regular seam sealer be the right product to use?

Whay don't you ask the guys at your local paint supplier. Who better to know !!!

The guy who did my car used three types. 1) stuff in a tube and caulk gun 2) "brushable" in a can and 3) a liquid on the drip rails.

I used ACDelco medium body seam sealing compound on mine. P/N 10-2013 in a caulking tube. It's fast drying and can be painted in 60 minutes, although I waited overnight. You can clean it up using mineral spirits. It is kind of the old school type of sealer. I used this on the last two cars I restored and I'm using it again on my current project. Purchased it at Summit Racing.

Someone recommended Evercoat Body Shop Pro-Grade Seam Sealer in another thread at some point in time.

I saved the name but have never used it.
