Hello All,

Anyone know of any Machine Shops in the San Bernardino County/Riverside areas?

I'm in Colton, CA and wondering if anyone knows where I can go locally where they know Mopars for my 440.

Thanks All.

Easy. IMM, Indio motor machine. Mopar specialist shop, superb work, father and son shop, OU812 on here. They will work on other brands too, and have done magazine builds. Ask for Brian or Fred.
They also do cylinder head porting, engine assy, and engine dyno.

Larry Ofair helped create SEMA
His team is the Paradigm of all shops In this area
I drive 100 miles to have my work done
He recently did my super rate 69 SC/Rambler 390
I had pictures but deleted them
Ferrari engines
Lambos
NHRA engines etc.

Up to you...bu I took some Heads to a Close but expert shop
Heads needed to be re-done at Valley Head Service, previous shop fucked them up.

First established in 1965, our humble beginning started by porting cylinder heads for local racers in the old family barn. And while cylinder heads still are the core of our business, we have one of the most complete engine shops in Southern California. Simply put, we fix the broken, resurrect the old, make the new better, and make the fast go faster. Our first notable customer was Carroll Shelby when we agreed to develop the top half of his famed race winning cars back in the 1960s. Others names would follow: Mickey Thompson, Don Pruhdomme, Holman/Moody, Smokey Yunick, Jim Hall, Warren Johnson, George Fulmer, and Fast Jack Beckman. Over the years we have also developed products that bring better performance to modern engines that include our own dry sump oil pumps and our Thunder Power 4-valve cylinder heads for big block Chevys.

BEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE

Found some pics:
My original block AMC 390 arrive at shop

IMM

a couple of out clubmembers from San Fernando Valley have drove out to Indio for his work.

IMM builds and dyno lots of Mopars. He knows the combos cause he’s ran so many on the dyno. And he does lots of hot street motors. He’s very practical and gets the big picture.

VHS is great too. But since you’re much closer, I’d go with IMM. You got that extra current focus with all the latest parts on Mopars to take advantage of. And the driving distance is a big deal.

IF it were an AMC in your situation, it would be more of a toss up.

PS: Brian ad Fred and team did Heads for me on a 440 (452s) a few years ago.
Yup
Top Notch
But for me?
Especially at $5.60 per gallon, Northridge is closer
And yes, you are correct...Both shops do "The very Best" work.
Valley head Service knows Mopar
As does IMM
Go with IMM as autoxcuda has suggested

Umm,
You need to check your Map
From San Fernando to Indio it is about 140 miles
From San Fernando to Northridge it is about 15 miles

-San Fernando to Indio CA: 147 miles · Moderate traffic · 2 hr 34 min
San Fernando, CA→Indio, CA

-San Fernando to Northridge: 10.4 miles · Light traffic · 20 min
San Fernando, CA→Northridge, CA

yes, you are correct.

I’m talking about the original poster that lives in Colton that’s closer to Indio

100 percent correct.....
driving is much easier
Stop at Morango for dinner or lunch on the way home
Good call autoxcuda!

What was confusing is we have a couple of club members that actually choose to drive out to IMM and get work done.

They were particularly looking for cam, head, combination advice. More than just raw machine work.

hope to see you SC/Rambler at a Fling

Everyone has a FAV
I used to go to Machine Shop X, I won't say name...Inland Empire area
Was a great shop but "Good Help" is hard to find.
So now I go for "serious" work to Valley Head Service
They build NHRA stuff and lots of Pro Stock in the So Cal area

Yeah, 100 percent!
I bought my 70 "426" Hemi from Bob
I love him
He let me build the Hemi with him.
Great guy with GREAT Connections
He has a couple of "Wally's"

Bob also knows MOPAR!

Yeah, might try to get to 70 Bee there
I jus pulled the Hemi last year
Have the original 383 ready to go!
Been a rough year
8" ft fall of one of the rental homes
Bad fracture left wrist
Finally, 1 year later getting mobility

Just up from you in San Bernardino, is BMS Machine. They do great engine machine work. I have my 354 Hemi there now. The owner is also a Bonneville racer! Ask for Dave.

Just to put some skin in the game - I went through several local machine shops when I worked at the resto shop and we ended up working with TG's Performance now located in Gardena (too far for you guys but just putting him out there). He (Tony) has done no less than 30 engines over the years for us. I recently took him my 440 for machine work and it came back as I expected - without any issues. I also plan on taking him my 6.1L block to get it sleeved for my 7.0L stroker kit.
