ProCar/Scat owns AFR now too, since Dec. 2021
they are well respected in the VW parts world
they make great seats too
I have never used one in a Mopar BB
but I did buy a lot of VW parts from them,
from their plant here in Redondo Beach Calif.,
all produced sourced here
never had any failures
they have been doing SBC stuff for a long time too
had pretty good rep there too
I know it's a different animal
but the fact ProCar/Scat merged/bought & will manage AFR also
(AirFlow Research)
makes me think they are serious about performance parts
I've used Ohio Crankshaft or Callies, for most my all-out builds
(usually Venolia Pistons, Childs&Albert rings, rods & bearings)
big cid, Top-sportsman or outlaw pro-stock combos
(I actually prefer big-bore 4.60" & shorter stroke 3.75" & high RPMs
498cid like many old NHRA Pro-stocks used, for all-out race combos)
then Mancini Racing or 440source for the more budget builds
like street/strip
I had/have a 383/479cid 383 4.290" (0.040" over) x 4.15 stroke
on the 440Source Made In USA stroker kits, rods pistons crank etc.
12 years of abuse before I sold it
went into the mid 8's) 8.58 @ 156 with 300 shot N2O
& 100s of runs in the mid-hi 9s) 9.77 @ 135 N/A
my last Silver 68 RR, 3250# (me in it about 3500#)
w/MT 315 Drag radials/CalTracs Sacramento test & tunes 100*+ weather
never had any failures associated with the rotating assembly
had problems with their early Stealth Heads
I just don't use them anymore
some of the bargain stroker kits are really good
for what they are
