Thanks for the reply and picture. Is this factory orange paint applied in 1970? The choke block off plate and carb flange paint makes me think it is not. Any more pictures to share?
 
The casting number and the four carburetor holes indicate that it from a 1970 383 HP engine.
It has bound to have been repainted at some point in the last 52 years

If you’ve ever seen a Fender Relic guitar… it would be easy to mimic an old paint job on an intake. How would you know?
