A original 170 2 door sedan. Wow, that's a beauty.
 
They are a tough car to make cool! We restored this one about 10 years ago, Overhaulin style for a guy who had cancer. I pulled out all the stops to try to make a grandma's car into some sort of a muscle car!

The 66's are cool in their own way. Pettybludart here on the A site, bought a stripper slant 6 car from the south and eventually made a race car out of it.

When I was a kid my neighbor inherited one of those 66 Dart post cars,from a grandfather who had passed away. It was in mint condition. A drunk driver sideswiped it from front to back when it was parked in front of the house and totaled it.
 
I owned one against my will.

A man called me....he bought it and decided that he didn't want to build it , then wanted to unload it to someone else.
$600 and it came with a bunch of parts....

I sold off the parts and made my money back so the car was FREE.

A few weeks of quickie body and paint......

It was originally a slanty but a prior owned swapped in the 318. It was a cheap, decent cruiser.
 
They do seem to be the right size and weight to make a great racecar,but you don't see too many people building them even though they still can be bought dirt cheap,

That's a 65 but you did a nice job with it.

It's funny, 40 years ago none of us would give a car like that a second glance, but today, it's kind of cool car in a mundane sort of way.
I kinda like them. Dad drove my sister and I from Taunton MA to Deer Park TX in a 63 bare bones 170 with 3 on the tree. It was also the first stick shift car that I 'stole' from the driveway to go mow yards. Was tired of dragging my lawn mower or trying to drag it beside my bicycle. Never drove a stick before but after backing up a bit then going forward it was game on. Learned the shift pattern when mom used to let me shift the old 51 Cranbrook we had. Anyways, dad traded in a 56 Plymouth Belvedere Sports Coupe for the Dart and the 51 was traded in on the 56 when it jumped time. Talk about a step down from the Belvedere to the Dart though and I knew he didn't really like driving it especially with no AC in the Texas heat.

Like those too. Had a 67 with a /6 3 speed. Did some basic mods to it starting with a straight pipe, jetted up the carb etc. Found a 69 for my girlfriend....318 auto with AC. The guy selling it thought it had a rear main seal leak but it turned out to be the oil sender unit. Got it cheap.
 
When I was trying to come up with a build theme for the convertible 66 Dart we built,I had remembered reading an article on the 1965 Dart Charger models and thought was the coolest version of that era Dart offered,so I went with the theme of what if Dodge had offered a 66 version of the Dart Charger model. They didn't, probably because they used the name on the actual brand new for 66 Dodge Chargers. So we built Eli's 1966 Dart Charger convertible. Cancer did beat Eli,but we believe that the car gave him something to fight for and be excited about and he probably lived an extra year and a half or so more because of his being able to enjoy what time he had with the car and the people who surrounded him.

This is a 1965 Dodge Dart Charger,with a 273 V8 engine. Note the Charger script emblems on the front fenders. The Cragar S/S mag wheels were included in the package!
