My 69 sattelite seats sit super low in the car. I’m rather tall 6’3” and at factory setting I have to drive with my legs bent in order to operate the pedals. I ordered the seat track extension brackets which say they give an additional 2” in distance back. My seats are older and the padding is somewhat deflated. At some point I will recover them. But in the interim, I was wondering if anyone has tried a “booster” seat”? I know it sounds cheesy, but I’ve got some health issues and I think it would give additional clearance pulling me away from the pedals. When I replace the interior I will be putting new foams, but that’s pushing 1k and I’m on a fixed income. Anyone tried it? Was it noticeable? Any problems with knee height and the wheel or head clearance? Did you find one that has straps or something to stay put?

Your saying seats, so buckets? There are pucks under the studs by the tunnel, not sure if there is enough stud to allow adding 4 to raise the seat. They are 1/2" thick. I have also used a u shaped spacer under the front two studs to tilt the seat back a little.

My 70 GTX is the same for me as I'm 6"2" and the seat (bucket) sat really low for me. The studs for the tracks were about 2" long so I made some 1" blocks to raise the seat up and it helped out. I thought about going more but my head is almost in the headliner as it is.

I'm 6' tall but I have an inseam of 36", and realized later in life that it wasn't normal, only normal for people 6'3" to 6'6" tall. It seems to me raising the seat is better in that scenario of longer legs rather than moving the seat back.

I added an extra puck under the front on mine- 2 in front and one in back ea. side- surprising how much more comfortable the buckets are with them tipped back a little. Lenny likes it better too.

Not sure how difficult to find this frame but my 70 GTX was optioned with the 6-way adjustable driver seat, I’m 6’1” and sure has nice adjustability.

1966 tracks are adjustable for height.

67 and later are not.

Really? Where ?? The only way I see to adjust height is to add spacers on the studs that go through the floor.
My '64 buckets adjust this way. I had to actually go out and look at my '67 R/T to see that they no longer adjusted this way. Sorry for my misinformation. It seemed like such a good idea, it would just be carried on.

Quality just went down hill after 66. Also the 66 seats and earlier have some aft and forward movement. Also tilt adjustments. ( I know that that detracts from originality).
Cheated and put 66 bases in our car. The wife came out and I kept adjusting the seat angle etc until she felt comfortable. Drove to Jefferson City Missouri to a TDC Meet in 2006. When we returned home after about 2 weeks, she said that was the most comfortable ride in years. I would have to look at the log book I think we had close 5000 miles..
Aside, the car is being reassembled and might be drivable in June.
It certainly won’t be as pretty as a lot of cars on the sites, but we will enjoy it.
