Hey guys,

I did a rebuild of my TRW ps pump due to leaking at two points, but I could not point out exactly where the leaks were.

After successful rebuilt and reinstalling the pump again I saw a day later that there is still a leak at the bottom of the filler neck. Everytime I fill up the fluid as it is mentioned in the service manual the pump is leaking.

What can I do against that? Any advice is appreciated.

Did anyone give me a hint where I can get a new/refurbished reservoir housing for my small Thompson pump. It is installed on an early Mopar (63 Fury) 361 with A/C.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Marcello

try steer and gear columbus, oh rebuilt mine

I would think the neck is either welded or soldered/brazed to the drum. It can most likely be repaired with whatever technique the factory used or there's always JB Weld. Good luck.

Thanks, will try it with JB Weld, good idea.. If that doesn‘t work I will contact Steer and Gear!

FWIW If it were mine I'd remove the pump from the reservoir, strip the paint off, find crack (leak) and then braze it. Repaint and re-install.
I had a rebuilt pump that started leaking where the rebuilders had brazed the nipple on and there were three small voids in the brazing, and one was leaking. I re-brazed it and it no longer leaks.
