Anybody have a spouse that can’t STFU? There really is NO excuse for snoring, NONE! I realize that it happens, it’s not the persons fault (to a point). If you keep telling them that they snore, your not getting any rest, that they need to see a doctor but won’t go, it’s ridiculous! Should you be the one to not get any rest? I call BS! See a GD doctor! It may be a simple as a mouth guard to move you jaw forward just enough so stop snoring.

Bottom line is this......see a doctor so you or your spouse can get the rest you/they need!!

I hear you on this....but at the same time, I've come to disagree, at least from a selfish standpoint:

My wife does this sort of thing for a living (sleep disorders/medical devices/etc.), so she's been all
over me about my lifelong tendancies of snoring - which I've pretty much mitigated by a combination
of sinus treatment before bed + sleeping exclusively on my left side (done more so because of ulcers,
but it also helps with snoring, too).

In other words, if your significant other snores heavily, be concerned more for the chances of it indicating
other issues may exist - much more serious ones than if your own sleep is affected.
Sleep apnea, oxygen deprivation, etc. are all sometimes associated with snoring and can be deadly serious.
I'd be more concerned about that in my opinion.

Here's the kicker here on the home turf, though - as we've aged, now SHE is snoring as well - and as you might
imagine, getting her to seek help for it is like pulling teeth, but I keep at her about it.
Now, in regards to her keeping me awake with it?
That used to be very annoying too, honestly - until the first time she went out of town for a week...
      I
      couldn't
      sleep
      a
      damn
      wink
Turns out, her presence next to me, sawing away at imaginary lumber, had become a sort of lullaby.

I see the subject a little differently now.

Mine wussed out of doing the sleep study, and I wished she would’ve just done it. Cause if she had, I wouldn’t be on here right now! I could be getting the rest I need. She doesn’t have any medical issues that a 2x4 (at the moment) wouldn’t take care of, lol!

Got a smart phone? There are apps that record and diagnose snoring.

I started using the Breath Right Strips every night for 5or so years now. We both sleep better. When mama is happy, everybody is happy.

Snoring/stopped breathing/ sleep apnea is hard on your heart. Talk to your Dr. that you are concerned for her health. Maybe between the two of you she will be convinced.

I've been using a CPAP for several years now. Now if only SHE would do something about HER snoring... :D

Yep, you’re preaching to the choir. Wife’s been to the doctor, dentist, did the sleep study, still rattles the windows at night! Some nights I don’t get much sleep, nothing wakes her up. If anything will break us up, this is it.

Same here. Had the operation where they break your nose. No good she still snores. After operation Doctor pulled about ten miles of packing material out. Went back to Doc and said, “she still snores! He says “I never guaranteed...this is like a fucking plague. Ear plugs etc.

So, not a single one of you guys snore? I do and heavily, especially if I eat a heavy dinner, my wife snore too, I told her she vibrates while she snore and the entire bed too, lol, the thing is she take sleeping pills, because of her mom, she died of lung cancer and my wife took the heavy part caring her, in order for both of us to get sleep she must feel asleep first , my snoring wake her up, the solution was for me to use soft ear plugs, and that's it, pleasant nights of complete rest, and besides, you have no idea how relaxing the sound of your heart is, you should try it at least a couple of days, any drugstore sell them.

We both snore but she is a heavy sleeper and can fall asleep in literally 60 seconds.
I'm a light sleeper so I wear soft ear plugs. I also use breathe rite knock-offs (breathe better) to help me sleep. A simple saline nasal spray also helps. Stay away from the type with chemicals! I also avoid sleeping on my back.
Unfortunately now she has restless leg so just when you are doing off (every 5 minutes) she kicks and shakes the bed. That's when I retreat to the spare bedroom. PITA.

Snoring can also be caused by being overweight. I have seen weight loss correcting breathing issues.

Ear plugs are a no go for me. Spent too much playing in the sand box and always on alert.......needed to hear what was happening at all times and if someone was to break into the house, I want to hear it and take action, not be taken out in a body bag.
