Just thought i would pass this along for anyone running a torqueflite /A 833 transmission, or even a 42/46 rh/re behind a 3g hemi. Im putting an 18spline behind a 3g and need to generate a speed signal. Im going to use the sensor off an early 90's jeep wrangler. Looks like this
Fuel & Spark (295)-2.jpg

It screws onto the existing speedo gear housing and the cable attaches to it. That way the factory guage still works. I just ordered it. Hope it works. Anyone else tried it? If not, once in and running i will report back

I'm curious.....please report what you find.

I just found one on ebay for 10 bucks!

No, it's new. But it does not have an end for the speedo cable. Should work for a programmable speedo.

I plucked this from the service manual

SPEEDOMETER SYSTEM
AC body vehicles are equipped with electronically
driven speedometer and odometer assemblies. The
unit has the same appearance as a conventional
speedometer but it eliminates the cable-driven me-
chanical system. A signal is sent from a transmission-
mounted distance sensor to the speedometer circuitry
through the wiring harness. By eliminating the
speedometer cable, instrument cluster service and re-
moval is improved. Refer to Fig. 23 Speedometer Di-
agnosis Chart.
