Would anyone know if the difference in a B-body power steering gear and say a Fury, Fury III or Polara gear would maybe be just the pitman arm shaft diameter. Say the Fury be a 1 1/4 inch where the B-body is 1 1/8. Any information on interchange would be great.

The large sector Pitman arms came into service in 72 I believe and it was an across the board change A/B/C. It may have been phased in but eventually all cars had the large shaft. As for gear box internals there were a couple of different ratios out there but most you will find from factory where 20:1 the only cars I have read about that had the 16:1 where the TA and AAR cudas. For faster ratio you have a couple of options. you can go with a PST pitman kit that reduces the ratio through the use of a longer pitman arm and idler 12:1 effective ratio. These can be problematic with certain headers and larger torsion bars. You can also check out firmfeel for a rebuilt factory box with verying ratios, or go with a Borgeson steering box 14:1 ratio.
