It appears that I have a stripped float bowl screw in my center carb. Is it ok to helicoil the screw hole in the main body of the carb? Also what is better the nylon thick gasket or the stock black ones that go on the float bowl screw?

You can helicoil it, holley sells a kit “easy route” It’s an odd size.

Either gasket is fine

No prob. I have one of those around here somewhere, don’t do Holly’s anymore

I bought a Demon off of Ebay once and had to Helicoil half of the bowl bolt holes, Napa had the kit in stock... easy peezy.

Just dropped off the carb. It looks like I had this same hole heli coiled along time ago. I might go with the flat stock screw gaskets. They require less torque when tightening them.
