I've got a bent strut rod that's throwing off alignment.

Question is can I remove AND install a new one without removing the torsion bar and LCA?

Thanks,

Patrick

No. And you have to disconnect the shock too. And the sway bar link if you have one.

.... lame....

So totally release tension on the torsion bar, disconnect the LCA and drive it out far enough to remove the strut rod if not completely separated?

THanks.

The strut does ONE thing only - it keeps the LCA from moving forward or backward. Theoretically if you added a rear one you could do the same with cables !! So if its possible, heat the thing up in place and straighten it. The only down side is that the LCA end is "fixed" so its likely bent there as well.
