Sure Grip 489 3.55 Rebuilder Needed

Does anyone know of somebody in the Chicago Area that can rebuild a 489 Sure Grip? Let me know your thoughts and experiences, still in car. Would like to drop off car and get it all done in their shop. Or work with them to gain the knowledge, thanks.

There are no parts available for the 1969 and newer cone type sure grip. A factory 489 case would have come with this type. Almost every one of them I've disassembled has been trashed. If it's worn out, time for a new unit.

Is there an issue with the SG not acting right?
It may still have some life depending on internal wear...……
