Swapping voltage regulator covers on a 69

Can someone tell me the best way to swap covers correctly?
I have the correct date coded one but it's overcharging and got a new one coming without the dry transfer.please help.

If it’s an original should just swap right over on the new one. I was able to use my original cover on a solid state replacement one.
