Hello,

I have an MSD Pro Billet Ready to run 83873 ignition distributor with an MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil (8200) installed in a 69 Charger. I do not have an ignition box installed.
I tried connecting my tach to the gray wire. Then the tach does not work.
If I connect the tach to the minus of the ignition coil, then the tach goes, but it knocks out to the left and right, very violently.
Can someone tell me where the error is please?

Thanks and greetings
Sebastian

what tach are you using? For my tach I had to use an MSD tach adapter that converts the signal to one that my old tach would work with.

I use the original one.
Which adapter do you have?

Do you use the gray cable of the ignition distributor with the adapter?

This is the answer to your problems. I used it and it fixed my tach going nuts.

I used the same MSD 8920 adapter mentioned above.

The OP is NOT using an ign box, so not sure if the # 8920 is correct for him

Contact MSD & ask them which adapter you need....

I am using the same RTR distributor and coil, you will need the 8920 adapter.
Connect the grey wire from the distributor to the white wire of the tach adapter, then connect the violet wire to the tach wire.
+12V to switched connection and black to ground.
