I was wondering if there was another plug on the water pump or block that would be easier to loosen other than the one between the upper rad hose and heater core hoses? I tried a 3 ft breaker bar on that plug and it would not budge :edgy::edgy:. Its just a cheap mechanical temp gauge that I wanted to use plus the factory gauge.

Not that I have found.

I had to remove my water pump and weld a nut to the top of it (after the bolt I welded to it broke) then with a breaker bar and the handle off my floor jack I was finaly able to remove the plug from the water pump housing. PITA

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a new water pump?

Heat it up and you should be able to get it out

wow I'm just going to go with an electric one, that I can put in the stock location.
