The convertible top of our '66 is in great condition . The color however is less than perfect .
What can I use to safely lighten or whiten the fabric ?
Thanks in advance

I wish I could remember what I used (sorry). All I did was call a convertible top place and asked them what they use.

Years ago my sister used Bleche White ( I believe that is the correct spelling) on her Mustang white convertible top.... It came in a spray bottle and she purchased it at an auto parts store

Back in the day I used koala kamikaze cleaner. It worked great for convertible tops that were white.
I helped a guy recently clean his mustang top with a naptha bar, simple green, and a stiff brush. It was a 75% improvement.
You may want to call Griots Garage and ask what they recommend. I'd stay away from bleach unless it is really diluted.

My dad always loved Comet Cleanser for his whitewalls, and vinyl tops. It's a powder; use warm water and a medium-soft brush, and rinse before it dries.
