They were some nice looking cars. Thanks for that.
I think I need posters of both Road Runners for the shop, they are such great looking cars. I think the 71's tail lamps, light up green when your on the gas, yellow when coasting, and of course red when on the brakes. IMO, the 1971 Runner, looks like it could come out today. I wonder which one was the fan favorite when they first went on display. Before the recent sale, they were on display with a ton of vintage Mopar dealership memorabilia, looked really great together!!! (The Steven Juliano collection)
They were popular on the show circuit as idea vehicles to spark the customization craze. showed what "Could" be done. They are great looking cars.
From MCACN 2018 - before they went up for auction
So cool. I got to see one of these cars in Fr Worth back in 73. Not too sure what the event was.....
I've often thought that the Duster would look cool with a 1970 style Super Duty Firebird front treatment. Or Camaro. But less pointy.
Have you even seen the proposed noses for the 75+ Challenger/Cuda
I think above were real prototype, and these are clay models
73 ford mustang hood scoops..
Don't like it...
I agree, glad it didn't go that way. the CLAY models were built, to show 2 designs at once, so to be viewed from the side only, so when viewed from front, it shows both versions, and kinda funky. The top photo is the nose cone on a car with production Cuda body lines,
No Fury GT?
