Do I need a title for an old car in Georgia? Technically, you can't register a car in GA without a title, or at least a bill of sale and a title application. If it's a vehicle manufactured prior to 1986 you won't need a title at all, just a bill of sale. I stand corrected !
But you need the owner's annual registration card and their name needs to be the same as on the Bill of Sale so you can register the car in your name (if you're going to drive it). Also, it's best to have Georgia State Patrol or County Sheriff office run the VIN to see if it has been reported stolen. Also(2), need to run the VIN through a third party website to see what pops up...is there a lein against the car. What a P.I.T.A.
Oh yeah, absolutely need to check VIN and all applicable paperwork. I am sure it would be a pain for most, damn near impossible for a yankee
The 928s seem cheep because they have a number of “unobtainium” wear parts to keep them running. A friend of mine bought one for ~$2500 (non runner but straight) and swapped a junkyard LS and cobbled a turbo on it. Sheesh, that thing is scary fast.
