Thermoquad mounting gaskets?

My remanufactured TQ came with two gaskets and the rebuild kit also has two gaskets plus the insulator, so should there be a gasket on each side of the insulator?

Ok, so then what is the point of the other "thin" gaskets that are the same shape of the insulator?

The kit is for more than one application,depending on intake some used spacer,some just used gasket,or in other words,one size kit fits all.
