Thermostat Neck and Gasket

Has anyone used a chevy water neck and gasket on a 440? Any issues? They do line up but are a tad smaller. I need one and the local speed shop is saying they are the same. I politely nodded and exited the store.

won't work....the t-stat is way bigger than the Chevy one....go to local auto part store and just get a new water neck....

Just an FYI - After a few leaky gaskets, I've stopped using them on my t-stat housing and only use the gray RTV. Haven't had a leak since I tossed the gasket.
