I am working a deal on a 64 Polara with a 392 hemi, 671 blower, scoop and my wife, god bless her, just mentioned that I could be ticketed in Georgia for the blower obstructing my view of the road?
Has anyone actually been ticketed for this? I can see if I am driving like a maniac or breaking other traffic laws.

If I can't drive this beast without being ticketed then I will need to let the deal go even though I am tempted to risk the tickets and wear them as badges of honor LOL

I remember this one, while being in Ocean City Maryland, cops pulled him over and made him roll back it out of town. Other than that he was seen at a lot of other shows without any problems. Maybe check with law enforcement in your area.

That GTO is unusually stupid looking with a stacked blower system.
There were stories of people getting their cars impounded for driving them on the street with tall blowers or snorkel hood scoops.
You have to admit, it is a visual obstruction to deal with. A driver may not see a pedestrian with something the size of a city trash can sitting on the hood.
I love performance cars but come on....that orange GTO is clearly a "Pro-Street" poser. Beautiful color, body and paint but the induction system looks like gigantic fake boobs on an otherwise nice looking woman.

Out here the problem is the ticket would likely be a "fix it ticket". They don't count against your license like a moving violation, but you have to fix it to get the ticket signed off. Removing a blower setup long enough to get the cite signed off could be a pain in the butt.

I built my blown 440 motor 6 years ago. It has BDS 871 with a Rude Ron under it, my bug catcher is a couple inches from level with the roof of the car. I've never had a problem with the police.

I have always thought I wanted a big blower through the hood set up also
Watched a video from a guy sitting in a back seat filming his buddy driving a blower car on the street
The driver could clearly not see what was in front of the car on the far side by how much he was leaning over to see at the intersections
Think that would get old very fast and take all the enjoyment out of it from the worry of hitting someone or something :(

Might be fun for a weekend but would cost a lot of money to find out

I am on Long Island and have no problem with police as long as I behave myself. I did get pulled over on the harris tnpk while attending Carlisle for not wearing my hood. The cop me go for all my violations and obstruction of vision, Blower, fuzzy dice on the rearview mirror.Tach on Dash. And it just started raining!
In PA you can't have anything more than 2 INCHES above the hood line. I paid the $125 fine.

IF ya got the $$ to stack blowers then you can afford the fine !!! And that adds another tale to your repertoire of adventures when you're bullshitting at car shows.

I agree with what you said except for the snorkel hood scoop....unless it's huge. Used to run a 68 road runner with a tunnel ram and used a snorkel hood and even though the snorkel did obstruct the view beyond the leading edge of the hood, it's wasn't bad and there was no issue with seeing someone standing or crossing the road.

Put a camera on passenger side with a monitor so driver can see it. I'm not into the big blower thing but each to there own. The red Camaro was good for a laugh.
