So my project car originally came with 14x6 standard wheels and wire wheel hubcaps. I have an NOS set of hubcaps and a set of correct w/w tires for it. I just need the rims. I have a full set of of Kelsey Hayes 14x5.5 rims I could use, just not sure if I should hold out for 14x6's. I don't see how anyone could really tell if I installed 5.5" instead of 6", but I am wondering if I need 6" for the front as it is a disc brake car.

thoughts?

I’d say go for the Kelsey Hayes 14x5.5 rims, I won’t tell if you don’t tell.

The 5.5's are factory Mopar size.

IMHFO, you asked

As long as they clear the calipers go for it the 14" x 6"
it's your car, it only needs to make you happy

nobody will see them, under them hubcaps anyway

if you have to buy them, anyway
make sure the backspacing is right
& all will clear the Disc.s, not all (or many) 14" will clear
may require spacers (or altering/grinding etc.) if not

if
you're worried about 100% correct, use the 14" x 5.5" steel wheels
the paint job 'looks too good' to be 100% correct too :poke:

enjoy

to be clearer, the broadcast sheet calls out 14x6 wheels. I only have 14x5.5 wheels.
Good advice about checking the clearance with the calipers.

You might need 6" rims to fit the deeper wire wheel discs, You need to check that out on your 5 .5" rims.
