Street/Strip car? Call Kenny Ford at PTC. You won't be sorry. Reasonable cost, good results. My race car I run an Ultimate Converter Concepts. Lenny will fix you up as well. Both are good people.

Use this spec sheet: http://www.ptcrace.com/spec-sheet-pm-23.html

Send it to all these companies and see what they say.

Sometimes a custom built one for your specific application can cost the same as a off the shelf model.

Summit can also help you if you contact their tech help, the same with TCI.

It will take a little time for them to get back to you, be patient if you want the right one.

Have fun!

Motor is a stroked 400 to 470. 583 hp 610 ft lbs torque. Street driving mainly. The builder recommended around 2800 because the motor reached such torque early.

Thanks guys

I would use Dynamic converter in Delaware, Frank Lupo is a long time Mopar only guy. He also has a Dyno to run 727 trans after build to make sure it is running correctly. he is in business a really long time.

Lenny is fantastic. I've been sorely disappointed with the part throttle performance of the last converter I had(From another vendor) and Lenny whipped up a great 11" converter that is as tight as stock at light throttle but works great at WOT as well.

I use a Luppo Dynamic 9.5 street/strip converter in my 63 and I like it alot. Drives like a normal converter and flashes about 4200 at the track. Ron

I run a PTC Converter. Happy with it, good folks to deal with. At the least, you need to speak with a reputable MFG, fill out a spec sheet with all known info, and go from there for picking out the stall speed. Having a Dyno and knowing Max Torque Peak RPM is a real plus for you. Don't buy one off-shelf via best-guess work. Dialing in the correct stall speed for your complete setup is very important as far as performance. Coan, Dynamic & PTC all seem to have a pretty good reputation in the muscle/drag world.

Good luck

PTC has outstanding service and for the price are hard to beat. I also have used them in three cars and never had an issue including one with a 4200 stall that had great street manner
