Just installed some torsion bars from Firm Feel for a 1966 Satellite.
Stock bars are 41 1/8" long
Firm Feel bars 40 7/8" long
I have a 1/2" gap from the end of the bars to the clip at the frame mount
when completely flush installed into the lower A arm.
The bars slide with no load, when I put a load (lifting up ) of course the bars
will not slide.
Is there a need for bar plugs to fill the gap as stated in the service manual?
Do the bars need to have some type of sliding.
The hex head on the Firm Feel are much longer than the stock bars.

Not familiar with the firm feel part, but you must clock the bar into the LCA with the suspension at full drop with the UCA bumper removed.

Push the bars forward into the lca, and don't worry about the gap. Every factory bar that I have seen has a gap between the bar and snap ring.

I have seen the plugs and they are thin plastic as I recall. They help keep the elements out of the socket to maintain the grease they are packed with.
