Need Help,
Son has 67 Charger floor shift 727 reverse manual valve body.
Won't come out of park unless we rock the car ?

Wild guess here - shift linkage is binding in transmission hump, but rocking it moves motor/trans just enough to free it up.

Check the pivot shaft/bushing and linkage adjustment. Put it N, see if the rod comes out of the lever on trans smoothly, then move the lever to 1st, check if the rod comes out smooth, then second. If those are good Park should be. Make sure the bushing in the Z shaft is intact. It could be more complicated, the "dog" in the extension housing that engages the output shaft may have a broken return spring. You'd have to pull the extension housing off the trans & check (not likely though).

Thank you for the excellent info, as soon as it warms up here again we will use this information to investigate it further.
