Every once in awhile someone will post about pulling out their seats, carpet, etc and finding interesting, classical stuff and trash. What about trunk drop offs? I’ve probed, scoped and vacuum/ blown mine out and except for a wrench, a socket and a few other odds and ends, haven’t found much real interesting. But I bet that’s not necessarily typical. Anyone found anything down in those crevices of interest?

I wish I could say I found rust free sheet metal, but I can't.

I found the original trunk key. I was hoping for Jimmy Hoffa, but no dice.

I found all this junk was down there. Rattle cured.

When I bought my current 68 RR back in Dec. 2005
from the 2nd owner, he only owned it for a year or so (I'm the 3rd)
he didn't clean it out much or he didn't look

It was 'Originally' an old carpenters cars, prior
the car had stayed in the general area, for all it's life
(I actually got to meet his Org. Owners daughter in Rio Linda)
anyway;
I had a nasty rattle, that sounded like something in the trunk
the spare tire & jack were secured well still, nothing I could see
then;
I sort of figured something was down there
reached down 'hoped to not get bit by a Blackwidow spider'
(long story it was infested with them, sat under a Pinetree for about a year)
anyway,
I felt around & started to clean it out & found a bunch of stuff
that had fallen down both sides
it had a gross foul smelling degraded/rotted set of leather
pouches/leather belt & buckle
a few old rusted old wood chisels & a small steel rusty tri-square
(I still have them somewhere)
& a crapload of rusty old nails of various sizes, mostly 16d
(I think he did framing work)
like 20#'s of them, mostly all tools of the trades
(luckily the rust didn't get thru the OE undercoating
that was sprayed in from the factory
)
a couple of taillight 1157 bulbs, in boxes & a lil' metal box of bus fuses
a few Y12 Champion plugs still in the boxes

you could tell the stuff was in there for decades

If your drops off we’re holding stuff I guess you started with a good car!!

Not in a drop down but under a seat....a baggy of really old pot. Found it when I parted the car out after having a crash with it after years of driving it hard and doing crazy things with it. This was in the mid 70's when you got 2 years in the pen for possession.
