Trunk extension drain plugs?

On a ‘73 Road Runner, do the “D” shaped drain plugs that go into the trunk extensions install from the inside or outside?

Installed from the outside, because you want the little drain (the bump on the curved part of the "D") on the outside of the extension, to theoretically drain any trapped water.

After thinking about it and looking at the plug this makes sense. Thanks for confirming.
