Turn Signal Cancelling Switch

Hoping to get some help/clarification. I have a 1969 Coronet-Super Bee. 4 Speed, non-tilt steering. Signal indicator has stopped working at the column, looking up part's, there seems to be two version's, both for non-tilt, and listed for same year's:

And a plastic post version:

I havnt been able to take off my steering wheel as I don't have a puller, but wondering if someone might know the difference in these two.

As I am in Canada, I need to make sure as ordering from the U.S. cost's big $$$'s to ship and I dont want to have to order twice if that makes sense?

As I am too busy to do the work myself, (Travel with my job), I have my Mopar mechanic ready to do the repair, I just need to bring him the part's, which is the reason for this post...

Any help would be appreciated.

I think the metal post is best. Contact @Slantsixdan here on the sight and get a good switch. There had been a rash of complaints of bad switches from the suppliers.

Brand new OE turn signal switches are on my shelf.

These are newly made according to the final-revision Chrysler blueprint, by an original supplier to Chrysler. These are not the crude, poor-quality Chinese knockoffs available all over the place, and they are not the Shee-Mar parts that kindasorta fit and fail early and often; they are the real deal – they fit and work all the way correctly, and they have the correct snap/click switch operational feel.

Two types are available (click any pic for larger):

• With split-flat-spade Packard terminals for '62-'63 cars

Buy a oem switch off of ebay, or get slant6dans replacement, the rest out there are junk. OEM is the best, but more expensive of course.

Are you sure the black post piece is plastic? I’m allmost sure is also metal but black finish

Find an OEM on ebay...or slantsixdan. That is your only 2 real options..

Don't go with anything else.

The design/base plate looks slightly different, but maybe that's just the pic and/or updated style?

I went through three aftermarket versions. NONE of them wood cancel when the wheel was returned. I found an OEM one and it works. Strange thing is, my inquisitive mind cannot discern the difference, they look exactly the same but the new ones simply would not do the job.

Hi Dave. I haven't heard back from Dan, maybe he's not checking messages right now. You mentioned you have a spare? Would you be willing to sell it if you still have it? I'd like to get mine repaired soonest. I would give you whatever you wanted for the Switch. And could pick up depending where your located and/or pay for your time and postage, etc. Thanks. He says he only ships out of the U.S., doesn't stock in B.C.? Did yours come from BC or the States?

Pretty sure mine came Canada Post from B.C. No brokerage or duties. Just sales tax.
