Looks like I need a new heater core. If anyone has experience with them, what’s the usual turn around for Glen Ray to re-core one? Don’t mind 4 - 5 weeks but would look for other options if 3 or 4 months.

Earlier this year, they did mine in about 3 weeks, but part of that was shipping and waiting on me to drop ship them an h valve.

They restored my 1969 factory Hemi transmission cooler in 5 weeks including shipping time. I would expect a heater core to be similar.

      They do excellent work!

They did my original radiator for my Road Runner a couple years back. It cools well and looks fantastic. Worth whatever wait there is!

Measure how long tubes through the firewall are. They will probably use your tubes, but after market cores are 1" to an 1.5" to short.

They did mine, but I don't recall the turn around time. It couldn't have been longer than 4-6 weeks. They were great to work with.

I asked about a recore on a radiator maybe 3 or 4 months ago and was told 3 months backlog

Bob's done several radiators, and heater cores for me, but I'm not usually in a hurry. I drop them at Carlisle, and pick them up the following year.

They did mine before covid. Fast turn around. The thing looks like a work of art. They also sent the right clamps and hardware to mount. They had to make one for my 71 GTX. It has all the right numbers on it. Wasn't cheap, but still very happy.

Sometimes you have to wait for quality.

He said they should be able to turn it around quickly. I didn't press him for an exact time.

What a mess. Apparently been seeping awhile and inside a mess but didn't find any apparent sign on the carpet or floor boards. I have it all apart and will have to clean everything up with new seals. Blower was squealing when I first tried it off the battery. But I drilled a tiny hole into the rear of the case over the bushing/bearing and injected some oil in it and it quieted down fine. Put a dab of 3M strip caulk over the tiny hole. One small victory.

                          I agree with posts 3, 4 6, 7, 11, 12, 13.....

Highly recommended. They did my '69 053 radiator. Worth the cost and wait for a car that runs 170 degrees or less all day.

Here's a thumbs up for Glen Ray Radiators. Looks virtually new.

                                IMG_5515.JPG

Took a little longer than figured but doesn't matter as I haven't gotten around to rebuilding the heater box yet. Need to bet the media blast cabinet out so I can clean off some of the rust on all the metal plates and doors and put new seals on.

Also, unusual in this day - he returned shipped the coil to me with the invoice inside - to send him a check upon receipt. Not many businesses will do that anymore.
